A Shop Is Charging This Guy $48,000 For Towing His Old Jeep

Joel Ramer and his girlfriend got stuck off-roading this old Jeep Cherokee on a powerline road in Walpole, Massachusetts last week. Seems egregious that he was arrested for trespassing and disturbing the peace, but the $48,000 recovery charge is downright offensive.

It’s unclear whether Ramer got slapped with a trespassing charge aftercalling for help, or if somebody spotted and busted him while he was screwing around in the mud. And yeah, you can be jailed for that in Massachusetts.

But after Walpole PD rolled up on him Fox25 says the cops called what is presumably their go-to recovery outfit, Assured Collision, to pull the mired vehicle out.

After spending twelve hours on the job, Assured Collision lugged the Jeep XJ to their facility. Ramer went to collect it and was given a bill for $48,000 instead.

Hey Greg and Jeff.

Love the show. Lots of good information. I signed up a couple weeks ago and have listened to all your episodes. Whew that took some time. I haven’t really heard anything about engine and or performance mods. My question is what is your guys’ take on cold air intakes, snorkels, tuners and anything performance wise. I have a 2013 rubicon. I know it has the better engine in it but I’m sure the factory doesn’t make this motor into what it could be just curious what you guys opinions are on tweaking these motors to get more out of them.
Thanks
Jmaes

Listener Feedback:

Hey Guys,
Been a listener for a while. Would be great to get your perspective on the clubs you run in and the different types. I know up here in the Sierra foothills there are family clubs, hardcore clubs, etc. I’m new to the Jeep experience and having a great time, but looking for a club that can teach a newbie how to have fun and wheel properly. Now that Greg’s rig is getting fixed up for SEMA, that puts a damper on my idea of doing some light wheeling with him and my 2015 stock JKU!

Keith
