Episode 62 – SEMA Prep, Rare Parts and Fun
Jeff keeps talking about a new rig and needing more room in his rig for people. Thinking you need to swap everything from your truck to a old full framed cherokee. (Gotta have the cherokee love) you will get more room for people and the back is almost the same size as your bed and keeps tools out of the weather. With rear seats folded down you could sleep in it. And you can keep proving people wrong when they say your to big and won’t make it! Don’t slip into the jk trap! (Love the jk just to many of them out there) vote Jeff in a cherokee for 2016!!! Lol

FSJ/SJ (full size cherokee) would be good but I think he should go for something even more odd-ball. Options that come to mind include the Jeepster Commando (similar dimensions to an LJ), Plymouth Trail Duster (similar idea to the SJ), or possibly midsize crew cab pickup (dakota or frontier seem to be the most reasonable $ wise). I prefer the look of classic vehicles but part of that is being in california and how strict the emissions compliance is. What is more important to Jeff, interior comfort or lack of emissions requirements?

The world leader in airguns is an American-based company headquartered in western New York: Crosman Corporation. If you haven’t looked at airguns lately, what they’re doing will blow your minds!

The pistols are the Crosman GI Model 1911BB, a CO2 operated BB pistol with realistic blowback. It has a 20-shot magazine and can shoot BBs up to 450 feet per second.

For the JKSKINZ mounts we went with their MTR77NP. If you had a break action airgun as a kid, this gun is right up your alley. It’s styled after an M14 complete with foregrip. When you break it open and pull the muzzle down, there’s an opening in the top of the foregrip for inserting the pellet into the breech. Close it up and go shooting. And this gun has Crosman’s Nitro Piston powerplant which is a gas piston that replaces the coiled steel spring, making it quieter and more accurate.

In the door mounts are Benjamin Armada precharged pneumatic rifles. The rail may look familiar – Crosman partnered with Magpul to incorporate the M-LOK accessory rail on this gun plus it will accept any AR furniture. Benjamin is Crosman’s high end brand and this is a $1,000 .22 caliber rifle that is fully suppressed from the factory, has a 10-shot magazine and is pressurized to 3,000 PSI for shooting. It will get over 30 shots from a fill. This is the Magpul Edition and includes MOE grip and stock plus a 4-16×56 mm scope and bipod.

For the Rackbone mount we opted for the Benjamin Bulldog. This is a .357 caliber that shoots a 145 grain bullet designed by Nosler for hunting deer and hogs!

All these are available now and you can learn more at Crosman Dot Com.

Hey guys,
I’m enjoying the new podcast, but I have mixed emotions about Greg finally lifting his rig. Part of me enjoyed listening to him agonize about which lift kit to go with. But I guess it is for the best. Now we will get to hear some more wheeling adventure stories because there won’t be any excuses why he won’t take his Jeep out on the trail! 🙂

I have a question for you. I live in AZ and my brother is in southern California. One of our goals is to run the Rubicon in the next year or two. The problem is that my brother has a stock mid 2000’s 4runner 4×4 with a V8. What are the minimum modifications he would need to do to have a “pleasant” experience on the con? I have a TJ Rubicon on 35s, with skids, a winch, and a cage, so I’m assuming I’d be ok.
